Every year, Plum Village Monastery’s resident community of 160 monastics offers healing and transformation to thousands of people at this beloved root temple, as well as to millions online. Each person who deepens their own mindfulness and loving-kindness helps to bring those qualities into their families, workplaces, and communities, contributing to shifting collective consciousness so that a different future can be possible. In this way, what began as a small monastery in rural France has become a global force for change.
As the movement evolves, so must our home monastery as we respond to increased collective suffering and a rapidly changing climate. In order to continue to nurture and strengthen this spiritual refuge we are expanding our accommodation and activity spaces, increasing accessibility, creating cooling for our meditation halls, and restoring our woodlands and water systems.

A long-time practitioner has stepped forward with a $2.5 million (€2.1 million) matching gift for Phase 1 of our capital campaign.
All gifts made to the renovations of Upper Hamlet and Lower Hamlet through December 31, 2026, will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $500,000 (€437,000) — making as much as $1 million available so that Plum Village can remain open to all who seek refuge here.
