“Our dream of realizing a year round retreat center is finally coming to fruition. This year, we are already planning more family retreats with children’s programs, an earth retreat, a chanting retreat, and more.”
Dear friends,
This year, you helped plant seeds of joy, community and peace by helping to fund construction of new retreatant accommodations at MorningSun Practice Center.
“The Barn,” will increase MorningSun’s retreat capacity by providing additional accommodations for nearly two dozen additional retreatants, as well as a much needed larger practice space. Though still under construction, overnight guests are already comfortably enjoying private and family/communal bedrooms, four shared bathrooms, full kitchen facilities, and a large meditation hall in this new ADA compliant space.
MorningSun is a lay practice center in the Plum Village tradition, founded by two former Plum Village Monastics. MorningSun is both home to several long-term residents practicing a life of simplicity, and a retreat center that welcomes visitors throughout the year for themed retreats, such as educators’ and Wake Up retreats, and personal retreats.
“At each of our retreats, the teachings of Thay are able to flow through our resident community and the many other core members of MorningSun into the lives and hearts of people throughout the New England region… At MorningSun, we feel both deeply grateful, and proud of our greater Sangha support which has enabled us to build this new retreat center capacity that will be serving thousands of people and communities for a long time.”
Thank you for your continued generosity!
