“Nourishing Wisdom, Joy and Beloved Community in a Polarized World” - A Retreat in Rochester, NY

“I feel a renewed commitment to bringing my intention back during the day, and a kinder more understanding, forgiving attitude toward my vulnerabilities and my inadequacies.

Dear friends,

Your generosity helped make possible a public talk and two-day retreat led by Dharma teacher Valerie Brown in Rochester, NY.

The weekend centered around the theme of “Nourishing Wisdom, Joy and Beloved Community in a Polarized World,” and included sitting and walking meditation, dharma sharing, deep relaxation, eating meditation, and Q & A sessions. With Valerie’s guidance, these practices helped plant and nourish many seeds of joy, Sangha, understanding, communication and love. Thank you so much for continuing to sow these seeds of awakening in all beings.

“The highlight was what I came away with: a far greater understanding of white privilege and an inner question: what would the impact be of what I might do/say on people?” - Retreat participant

“It was also fun to get to know more Sangha folk better. Valerie’s fostering of the collective wisdom of the Sangha as a foundation for our time together was inspirational and helpful going forward.  I appreciate, will use, and will share the East Bay Meditation Center Agreements for Multicultural Interactions.” - Retreat participant
